The Millbrook Experience

The Millbrook Experience was a fantastic opportunity for me not only to develop my skills as a driver, but also to learn about and test the capabilities and limits of my own car without taking my life into my hands on the open roads. The on-road advanced driving tuition is a real eye-opener, uncovering powers of observation I never knew I had, and has definitely altered and improved the way I drive everyday. Once at Millbrook, with the huge variety of training facilities available, the instructor was able to focus on and improve specific elements of my road and track driving and enable me to explore the handling of my car in a way which you cannot do safely on the road. Highlights included learning how the car reacts and handles at high speed (160mph+) and under extreme braking on the mile straight; how the car can feel perfectly balanced on the high-speed bowl; where the limits of mechanical traction (and computerised traction!) are on the steering pad (and what it feels like when you exceed both!); how to smoothly and quickly navigate the hills and curves of the alpine course, and how to find the right place to apply the throttle out of every corner on the shorter track. It was an intense afternoon, but it was a huge amount of fun: I couldn't stop myself smiling!

For someone who enjoys driving but wants to learn more and stretch themselves, it is an invaluable experience.
